Abigail Kenny is a photographer interested in Landscape/Street Photography. Abigail’s work is documentary based as she wants to document the world she sees and allow people to discuss new ideas that she addresses in her work. she focuses on landscapes as she finds peace and hopes others can relate to this.through her research she has found that landscapes can have a positive impact on wellbeing. Abigail’s current work is based on memories and how they fade and get re imagined when we remember them. The work uses experimental materials such as liquid light which allows the artist to hand print analogue images onto fabric, she has a fond interest in trying new techniques and is interested in how all the processes create a different outcome. Abigail has then moved on to use digital images on fabric, also focussing on creating tactile work that allows photography to be more accessible. Abigail’s main body of work sees her images printed onto cotton fabric to allow her audience to see the work move as they walk past. Abigail uses darkroom techniques in her work as she enjoys the process of seeing an image develop from the moment you click the trigger right through to when it finally appears on the paper. The work being created has a nostalgic feel which the photographer believes is important as her work is based on memories which are all the past.
